Understanding the CBD negotiations process: perspectives from youth leaders

¿Por qué asistir a esta sesión?
Do you care about biodiversity loss and the future of young generations? Would you like to better understand how the CBD works; the impact and role of youth movements at COP15 and beyond post-2020? Come meet the Global Youth Biodiversity Network and see how youth can take the lead for a global deal for Nature and People!
HideDescripción
The session will be the occasion of meeting highly experienced young activists, strongly involved in the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The speakers will give an in-depth analysis of the COP process and the CBD institutions in a dynamic, innovative, solutions-driven perspective and how COP15 represents a key milestone for the overall post 2020 agenda. Some time will be devoted to interactive exercises with participants, to understand how young people and leaders can take action and engage with negotiators and other key actors. The campus will present the "CBD in a nutshell" guide, and how it can help improve governance and multi-stakeholder participation at the CBD and beyond. The panel will include representatives from the Global Youth Biodiversity Network, the only youth organization with observer status at the CBD. GYBN encompasses 19 national and 3 regional chapters as well as 340 member organizations in 140 countries, representing a total of 668.000 youth.
